🏆 Tyrone Grade 1 Under 16 Hurling Championship - Semi-Final

16/06/25 @ PĂĄirc ChlochĂłg

âŹ›ïžđŸŸ„đŸŸ© NCC-DĂșiche NĂ©ill 9-13

đŸŸ©âŹœïž Fionntamhnach Na Piarsaigh 1-09

PĂĄirc ChlochĂłg was in top shape last night for our faoi 16 hurlers’ championship semi-final meeting with the Fintona lads of West TĂr Eoghain.

The rain stayed away for the duration of the game leaving conditions perfect for hurling.

The Fintona lads came out of the blocks fast at the beginning of the match and had the first point on the board after 30 seconds. Fionn Daly responded with a well placed point from a free a minute later before the Na Piarsaigh boys took control of the game with the next three points in a row to open up a 0-04 to 0-01 lead with seven minutes on the clock.

The NCC-DN lads were showing some early nerves and took a while to settle into the game but by the twenty third minute had effectively put the game to bed with an unanswered run of four goals and four points.

Fionn Daly started the scoring spree when he took off on a solo run in the eighth minute. He saw his goalbound effort rebound off the crossbar where the waiting OdhrĂĄn Coleman was on hand to whip the sliotar to the back of the net to level the scores at 1-01 to 0-04.

A goal from a Fionn Daly penalty after a foul on the goal bound Aodhan Donnelly in the 11th minute was quickly followed by two further goals from OdhrĂĄn Coleman and midfielder Eoin Ferguson and points from Aodhan Donnelly, Erikas Pestrauskas and a brace of points from centre half forward Fionn Daly.

A point from Fintona’s centre half forward stalled the rot before a handful of points from corner forward Kylan Preece (0-02) and Fionn Daly (0-02 frees) left the Black ‘n’ Red in a very healthy position at half time.

NCC-DN 4-09 Fintona 0-05

The second half continued in much the same scoring vein as the first as a further five goals and four points from NCC-DN in response to a goal and four from Fintona ensured that we march on to meet Naomh Éanna An Ómaigh in the final.

Majors from Daniel Kane (2), Aodhan Donnelly, OdhrĂĄn Coleman and a footballed goal from Eoin Ferguson coupled with points from Fionn Daly (0-02) and Daniel Kane (0-02) were enough to ensure that, with referee John Devlin’s final whistle, we’d be taking our place in the final and a bid to claim a first faoi 16 championship title since 2005.
