Latton O’Rahilly’s v C.L.G./C.C. Naomh Colum Cille
Our senior hurlers made the journey to Latton on the northern shore of Lough Avaghan in South Monaghan yesterday evening (10/07/24) for round five of the Croke Park organised Cú Chulainn Adult Club Hurling League.
The Cilles came into the fixture having secured a possible eight points from four fixtures and were hoping to make it five from five with a victory over the Farney lads.
The weather wasn’t too bad considering the heavy rain over the previous couple of days and didn’t prove to have an adverse effect on the proceedings with the Black and Red settling into their task more efficiently than their Monaghan counterparts.
The Cilles had the lion’s share of scores in a game that provided plenty with the scoreboard ticking over a total of forty times leaving the final result 6-23 to 2-09 in favour of the Black and Red.
Seámie and his management team will be pleased to keep the unbeaten league record going and glad to have progressed to the knock out stages of this very worthwhile competition.
